Trip to the ER

So Ben had quite the eventful day yesterday. Here is how the day started: Ben woke up around 6 am not feeling well. He usually is pretty good sleeper so I should have known something was wrong. I asked him if he was ok and of course he said yes, so I left for work. I got down to work an hour later and noticed that I had a missed call and a text message from Ben. Text Message Read: "I think I am having a kidney stone." I got another call from Ben as I was about to check my voicemail and he told me that he was heading to the ER because of his kidney stone. Now, Ben has had a couple of kidney stones now so he knows to not wait around for it to go away. I had just driven an hour to get to work and I had some things that I HAD to do so I ran into work to update some numbers and called the regional office to tell them I was heading to the ER for Ben. I took off shortly after that and met Ben in his hospital room. He had just returned from getting his CT scan. He was not a happy camper at this point, so he needed a bit more pain medicine. Well about 4 1/2 hours later, he was finally released. I headed straight to the pharmacy to fill his prescriptions and got him into bed ASAP. Oh yeah.... Ben was also supposed to have an interview for a summer job/internship at 1 pm yesterday. I had to find a number to let them know that he was in the hospital and they were great about it. He got a call later in the afternoon to reschedule his interview. Whoo Hoo! So that was our eventful day yesterday. Ben is doing great now that the stone has passed. :)

I know how you feel!...For real! Joel just went through a kidney sitch, found out he had 2 large stones in each kidney. One was over .5 (whis is on the bigger end to pass) so he had a lithotripsey to break it up (which was an experience in itself that I still make fun of him for when he was out of it). Then it was the big day he passed it, never seen him in so much pain and throwing up. Yay for us he still has one more so we get to do this whole ordeal all over again! Ugh! I feel your pain, well, your pain, not Ben's. It's a lot of worry and stress on the wife end, keep taking care of him the way you do! :) P.S. I need to see pictures of you, stat!

I am SO sorry. I have never had a kidney stone, but my sister said it was way worse than child birth, so I can imagine it must be painful! Hopefully all is well now, and good luck to Ben with his interview!

Poor Ben!! I'm so proud of you Nat....taking care of him like that. :o) How sweet of you.
Back to Ben....(ha ha) I am so sorry he has to go thru that stuff. I think it would be just awful. I hope he's feeling better now!! I wish you lived closer, and I'd bring you some dinner!! ;o) Maybe I just ought to finish that darn cookbook, so you won't totally hate me, huh?? Oh well, I love you....and I miss you guys, as always!! Guess what?? You know the tournament Matthew is in down in St George right before Easter?? Well, Jesse is going to be playing in the same one....so Mom can watch both the boys play. I wish you guys could go, too. I'm hoping it will be really nice down there.... I'm so sick of this crazy winter we've had. I'm tired of sickness, and I'm tired of winter....period. Oh well, I'll stop complaining. Talk to you soon!! Love!!

Oh that sounds just awful! I can only imagine. I'm glad he passed them though and didn't have to wait too long for that to happen. Its kind of ironic how things like that always seem to happen when something big is planned. When I drove to the ER with my P.E. Zac was at a job interview as well and had to come find me in the hospital afterwards! Sounds like you were right there to take care of him- lucky guy!

Thanks for the note! I am glad Ben's trip to the hospital wasn't too life-threatening either! And yes, the boys are totally fired from planning, we gave them one shot that is all they get! From now on we will have to take turns! See you Saturday at BUNCO! Yipee I am so glad that you are now a permanent bunco-an(??)!
