Ok so I feel so bad for my cute little puppy. He woke up early on Sunday morning around 4:00 am scratching at his ear and shaking his head. He was up for about 40 minutes, which usually never happens. I knew something was wrong but it was too early in the morning to do anything or check anything out. That morning he was still scratching at his ear and shaking his head more and more. I checked out his little ear and it was pretty red in comparison to the other ear. I tried to call the vet on my way home on Monday night but I just missed them. They close at 6:00 pm and I called around 6:15 pm. I figured that one more day would not hurt so I gave them a call yesterday and they were able to get Odie in at 5:00 pm. By this time, his ear was almost a purple color and really irritated. The vet took some tests and he came back pretty confused. He said that he has a bacteria infection and a yeast infection (which is pretty common for dogs)in both ears. He was confused because you usually don't get both at the same time and so rapidly. He needs to see Odie next week to check his progress. He gave me some drops/ointment to put in his ears twice a day and then massage his ears. I feel sad because he won't even let us touch his head and Ben needs to hold him down so that I can put the drops in. :( I feel like such a bad puppy owner. I hope cute little Odie gets better soon!!

I'm so sorry.... We had a situation with our puppy once, too. I felt like such a horrible person 'cause I didn't know anything was wrong before it was REALLY wrong, if that makes sense. I hope Odie will be feeling better soon. :o(

Oh that is soooo sad! You are not a bad owner you are a great mommy! Isn't it so sad though don't you feel so helpless? Zoey was sick once and wouldn't stop throwing up and I couldn't do anything. I was scared too but it all turned out ok. Hope he feels better soon, can't wait for an updated pic!
P.S. I thought you were so funny about the Natalie S. thing I just had to do that cause some of them have the same first names so I just did it for everyone so it looked the same.
Also that is weird I have never heard of a dog getting an ear infection did your vet tell you how it happens or is it just kind of random?
Thanks for posting a picture of your cute little dog, but sad it had to be this way. That stinks about him. Sounds like you are a real Mommy with all the medicine and care you have to give him. He's your kid. :) Hope he gets feeling better soon!

It's so sad when your baby is sick!!! Isabelle is sick right now it's so bad! I just cry when she cries and there is nothing I can do for her it breaks my heart. So I know how you feel. I hope Odie feels better.

Poor little odie! Molly got an infection on her foot a couple weeks ago, maybe they gave it to eachother!? I have a question, have you found anywhere to get your hair done here yet?? My needs some desparate help and I am too much of a pansy to just go somewhere and take a chance!! let me know!

Hi Natalie! I didn't know you and Ben were BLOGGERS!! :) YAY! Yes, we definitely need to hang out soon! Even though Gage is MIA lately! Don't you just love it when the stress of law school finals sets in? I am so excited for "BUNCO" tonight! ;)
