Update on Little Odie
(The picture is blurry but it is the only one that I could find. Man, I need to get a new laptop)
So we took Odie to the vet again on Friday night. The vet looked in his ears again and said that the bacteria infection was gone but he still has a yeast infection in both ears. He gave us some new drops to use to fix the pH in his ears. We have to put the first drops in (that he hates) and then wait 5 minutes and put another set of drops in his little ears. Now this is not just a one person job. Ben has to HOLD him down and hold his face so that I can put the drops in. So, on Saturday I was getting ready to put his drops in his ears, Ben was holding him down and I lifted up his floppy ear to put in the drops.... One drop in and he FREAKS out and yelps and I still need to do the other ear. I thought that this might have just been a one time thing, but yesterday the same thing happened. I don't think that I am going to be able to do this for a whole week. I seriously don't know how parents would do this to their child because my heart just breaks to hurt my little dog. After you put the drops into his ears, he shakes his head frantically trying to get the drops out. He also rubs his head on the floor and blankets. It is really sad to watch and it continues for quite a long time. I really hope his little ears feel better soon.

It reminds me of Koko when she was sick. I didn't have to do any of the medicine stuff like you and my Mom and Dad did, but it does hurt to watch it. Hope all gets better!
Oh poor Odie, I feel your pain. It is reasons like this I do not have children yet, you're right, it's bad enough with our dogs! You can do it for a week I know it he will love you for it in the end but it doesn't make it any easier! I can't believe how big he has gotten he is soooo cute!
So you do really need a new laptop, maybe you should tell Benji that's what you want for your bday! I'm still waiting to see what's in your bag!
I hope Odie gets feeling better soon! It's so hard to deal with sick "kids". ;o) Seriously, it does break your heart. I felt like a terrible dog parent when my little dog had a problem....and I hadn't noticed it for a while, and we had to take her in to the vet. I felt like a LOSER. My dog was in so much pain.... At least you got Odie in quickly. Good luck!
Sounds like when we had to hold Emmy down to get her take her medicine when she was little. Now she'll just drink it up and doesn't mind. Go figure!? You dog is cute by the way!!
So sorry Odie!
Emma, my chocolate lab, had the worst ear infection ever. Her ear was so swollen and was going bald. They had her on like 5 different medications, including steroids. And I totally know what you mean when you say it's not a one person job. Mike has to hold her down too while I open her ear and put all the crap in it. Hope Odie is doing better. He's adorable!
Thanks for saying that he is adorable. We like to think so!! We are bringing him to Utah with us next month. :)
Poor thing. It is so hard to see someone you love in pain, especially when you are causing it! Good luck in getting him all better. : )
Hello. This post is likeable, and your blog is very interesting, congratulations :-). I will add in my blogroll =). If possible gives a last there on my blog, it is about the Câmera Digital, I hope you enjoy. The address is http://camera-fotografica-digital.blogspot.com. A hug.
Poor Odie! I keep thiniking you'll put a post soon that will say that he's all better, but alas it has not happened. Hopefully those drops work and he'll get better soon.
Oh, I hope Odie gets well soon!! I hate seeing animals in pain; it makes me so sad!!
I was at the game last night; where were you at? I came kind of late, but I didn't see you! It was a sad day because the game (and like 15 minutes after) was the only time I saw Gage yesterday!!! Ugghh...memos and finals.... thank goodness there is an end in sight!!
He is SO CUTE! I hope he's all better now!
Having a sick dog sounds exactly like having a sick kid. Nothing is worse!! Especially when they can't communicate with you to tell you were it hurts. Addie is now able to say throw-up since we've had a couple days of her being sick. She'll just look at you and go I throw-up. It's heart wrenching!
Poor doggy! This is Laura Benson by the way. I found your blog through Megan's. I just wanted to say HEY! How fun to have a dog, but sorry he is sick:(
I'll be in Korea May 5th-16th. When are you in town?
